The Kerala Dinesh Beedi Workers Central Co-op Society, one of the largest Industrial Co-operative Societies in India, is established in 1969 and has 38 years of meritorious service in the co-operative sector. The society is born and brought up with the active support and initiative of Govt. of Kerala. It is based at Kannur with operational units in the three northern districts of Kerala- Kannur, Kasargod and Kozhikode. We provide full time employment to 12,000 person’s directly and more than one lakh people indirectly through the functional units of Beedi rolling, Food processing, Umbrella assembling, Garments making and IT.
Since the mission of the KDBWCCS is the upliftment of weaker sections in the society, we are focusing on new ventures, which create more employments. we started a coconut milk extraction unit during 1997, curry powder and pickle unit during 1998 and a fruit processing unit during 1999. Also we started a more labour oriented umbrella assembling unit during 2000.
